Back to School Beauty

Hey everyone! Gosh, it feels like a long time since my last post but I’ve been super busy with back to school stuff and everything that comes with school (homework). But, I am trying to get more organzied this year and have set a notification on my phone so I remember to post every 1-2 weeks.

This post is all about beauty! Going back to school is rough and I don’t always feel up to spending hours on my hair and makeup. Thankfully, I have a uniform at my school so I don’t have to worry about fashion! Here are some of my tips and tricks for the most beautiful you at school without taking hours to get ready!

  • Tip 1: Don’t make everyday a fashion show!

I know that every once in awhile, wearing a cute dress or skirt to school is fun but don’t stress about dressing like that everyday. You can make sweatpants as cute as a dress. I showed this in the Polyvore below:

See? Just as cute, so much comfier!

  • Tip 2: Wearing your hair up is okay!

Okay, so I love curling an straightening my hair as much as the next girl but some days I like to wear my hair up but I hate wearing a simple ponytail. So I like French twists, French braid headbands, and messy buns. Below are some pictures for each. Plus, you can YouTube these for step-by-steps!

  • Tip 3: Don’t do a full face of makeup everyday!
Besides the fact that it’s not good for skin, but also I hate having to bother will a bunch of makeup every single day! So I use certain products to make it look like a lot of makeup when in reality, I’m not.

Cream Eyeshadow is amazing! I can pick one or two colors and swipe it on in under a minute for a polished look that I personally like better than normal eyeshadows. You can find them everywherw! I love Bobbi Brown cream eyeshawdows but I use Revlon too!

Okay, so here’s where I try not to preach to you all unsuccessfully. I love this product by MakeUp Forever! I’m not sure exactly what it’s supposed to be used for but from what I’ve learned, you put it on your face before you put anything other product on and it evens your skin tone. And it does! I use this so much. A little bit of this powder and some concealer and I don’t need any foundation. I hope that wasn’t too much of lecture but it really works!

Transition Summer Clothes to Back to School

Hey everyone, it’s been crazy busy this summer and I apologize for not posting as much as I would like to! I hope to get back on a more regular posting schedule very soon!

For today’s post, I was thinking about how I have all these adorable summer clothes that I would love to wear in the fall so I don’t have to buy a bunch of new clothes. So, I went onto Polyvore and transitioned some of my favorite summer pieces into fall fashion. I hope you enjoy and get some inspiration.

Look 1: White Skirt

A white skirt just screams summer to me so it can be hard to make it a fall piece. My tips: use some fall appropriate colors in a long-sleeved shirt and matching scarf to offset to summerness of the skirt. The flats and earrings add a nice touch.

Look 2: Colorful Shorts

With your bright shorts, I think the rest of the outfit should be neutral. A gray tank top and black blazer add a sophistication to the look. The pale shoes and bag go well with the bright shorts and the dark jewelry ties it together well. I love this look and think it looks a lot like a fall fashionista.

Look 3: White Dress

A white dress is super summery and usually only broken out then. But pairing it with floral leggings and black boots makes it have a more fall look. the brown bag and long necklaces tie the look together. This is probably my favorite look.

Look 4: Bandeau Top

A lot of people have bandeau tops that are so cute and fun for summer but hard to wear in the fall. But if you pair a cardigan in the same color scheme and button it up (just enough so you’re not showing any stomach), pair it with jeans, and nude flats, it transitions nicely into a fall look.

Look 5: Summery Wedges

Bought those adorable wedges at the end of summer sale? Don’t want to wait until next summer to wear them? Pair them with a black cardigan and a simple polka dot skirt! Add a simple silver necklace and the summery wedges fit right into fall.

How To Get That Perfect Signature Piece

kristineklove -

We all know that person who always wear that gorgeous leather bracelet every day and everyone knows her for it. Or that guy with the best smelling cologne and the entire female population would hurt him if he changed it. We know the people who copy those looks in hopes of being called the person who started that trend. Don’t be that person. I have been trying for years to find that perfect signature piece and I am still on the hunt. It used to be three feathers- red, orange, and blue- but they have fallen out of my hair and fashion. I have devised a plan to find it my next one though and am determined to find it on my next shopping trip.

Step 1: Know you’re stores

Don’t go into stores that you don’t like or don’t want to be seen dead in. For me, I will never go into Aeropostale. No offense if you shop there, but it’s not my fave store. Go into a store that you like. That will help you find the right piece.

Step 2: Have an Idea of what you want

Don’t just show up at the mall expecting your piece to jump out at you. You have to know if it will be jewelry or a clothing item or whatever you choose before you go out and try to find it.

Step 3: Have a Budget

It sucks when you find an awesome shirt but you can’t afford it so you have to put it back. Make sure you know you’re budget and stay away from too high of price tags.

Step 4: Bring an honest friend

Make sure that your friend will tell you if you found the perfect piece or not. Sometimes, my fashion choices are a bit off so my sister will always tell me if I’m completely off-key or not. An honest friend will tell you if the piece is perfect for you!

I hope these ideas will help you in your signature piece search!

I was hoping to make a Q&A post somewhere in the future so if you have any fashion/beauty/hair/etc. questions you want answered, just comment with your question or email me at

Beauty Fact or Fake

Aplicativo: Descubra qual maquiagem combina com você

Hey everyone, today I decided to do a post about beauty myths. Everyone has heard things like foundation giving you wrinkles and certain products causing you to break out so I wanted to get the facts straight once and for all.

1: Toothpaste is a safe way to get rid of pimples.

FAKE: Toothpaste will help in drying out a zit, but it can actually burn your skin. The fluoride in toothpaste causes the burn.

Solution: mixing corn starch and water and dabbing it on overnight ( New York City dermatologist Dr. Francesca J. Fusco)

2: French fries and chocolate make you break out.

FAKE: This would only happen if you smeared the french fries and chocolate all over your face and clog your pores. There is no scientific evidence showing that links chocolate or oily foods to acne issues.

Solution: You blame the food, but really it’s PMS and periods. So, you can eat it all without pimples.

3: 8 hours of sleep can help me lose weight

FACT: We don’t eat while we sleep and without enough sleep we won’t be able to be energized throughout the day

4: Drinking lots of water will help keep your skin healthy

FACT: It will keep you hydrated and healthy!

5: Certain Cleansers can make your pores smaller

FAKE: Pore size is genetic but the products out there will help to minimize them for a time. Then they will go back to normal size.

Solution: There isn’t one, but you can use the products if you want your pores smaller for a time.

6: Cutting your hair will make it grow faster

FAKE: Your hair grows at its own pace and trimming your hair won’t change that.

Solution: Don’t give up those routine haircuts though! They keep your hair healthy and spilt-end free!

7: Beauty products have an expiration date

FACT: Just like food, make-up has an expiration date.

Solution: You will have to buy new but here are some common dates: Mascara and Liquid Eyeliner: 3 months, Liquid Face Make up and Cream Eye Shadow: 6 months, Powder Face Make up, Powder Eye Shadows, Pencil Eyeliners, Lipstick, Lipgloss: 2 years

After 4th Fashion

Google Image Result for

After the 4th of July, we all just shove our red, white, and blue back into the closet until next year. Well, this year you won’t have to! I created some looks that will let you use your red, white, and blue for the rest of the summer!

Look 1:

Those colorful shorts that we wear? Don’t hide those. To keep the look from looking like the 4th, pair them with a pastel pink shirt, a hat with a matching pink band and brown sandals for a look that is nothing like 4th of July.

Look 2:

Don’t trash those flag shirts. They scream 4th of July but you can class it up. Pairing a flag shirt with a black pencil skirt, blue suede pumps, and some killer jewelry makes this look classy enough for a girls night/date night.

Look 3:

The flag scarf that you would normally wear once a year? Bring it back out. Mix the pattern with a simple one like this for a cute casual look. The brown oxfords and earrings keep it summery and not holiday-ish.

How to get Eleanor Calder’s Style

Eleanor is one of my favorite fashion icons. She is a model and is dating One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson. I like her for her fashion, not her boyfriend. Promise. So I wanted to show you how to get her style.

Eleanor has casual style that is still sophisticated. She wears a lot of skinny jeans and white blouses. Below are inspiration pictures and outfits.

For my first look, I went with a classic white sleeveless blouse and skinny jeans. If you can only have two clothing items that are like Eleanor’s style, I would recommend these. They are some of her main go-to pieces. She also carries around a large purse that I adore and her signature aviator sunglasses. I added the light blue shoe for a pop of color. She doesn’t wear a lot of color but when she does, it’s usually pastel.

I went with a colorful blouse for this outfit instead of a plain white. I think it’s a pretty vibrant color that’s perfect for summer. You can use white too if you would prefer that. The jean shorts are high-waisted like Eleanor is wearing here and fun sandals and an over-the-shoulder bag complete the look. The feather necklace adds nice visual interest to a simple outfit.

I loved the simplicity of this look. The long black sweater and indigo skinny jeans are adorable together. I usually shy away from black and blue but the shade of blue is perfect for this look. The blue flats are a great pop of color and such a pretty color with this look.

For this look, Eleanor paired these adorable pale green skinny pants with a simple white tee. Pairing it with a black blazer and black accessories finishes the look for a true ‘Eleanor’ style.

Book Review: The Luxe by Anna Godbersen

First off, I am sooo0o sorry I haven’t blogged in a while but I’m back. I’ve been on vacation and been doing so many things that I am exhausted.

Wenn Mädchen schweigen, gehen ihnen 1oooGedanken durch den Kopf. *-*

With all my plane flights, I have read a lot of books over the past couple weeks. So, I am going to do a series of books reviews. I hope these inspire you ladies to read this summer!

Today’s Book: The Luxe By Anna Godbersen

This book follows teenagers who live in  Manhattan in 1899. It takes you through their power struggle, their love, and these girls finding themselves in a material world.

First Impression: I was really confused. They start off with one of the main character’s dead in the Prologue but she comes back to life in the next chapter! I quickly figured out that the book is about the events leading up to the Prologue. But, READ THE PROLOGUE. You won’t get the ending otherwise.

Final Impression: I loved this book! I thought the plot was unique and not like so many other books out there. It takes a time period that is foreign to us and adds elements that we can relate too. Frenemies, gossip, family values.

4 out of 5

Recommend this book: Yes!

NOTE: this book is the first in the series. The ending of the book does not require you to continue reading but the rest of the series is very good too.
