Revlon Lip Butter Review

Hi Girls!
First off, today I’m working on brainstorming ideas for future posts and creating a schedule. So if you have any requests please leave them down below. I can use all the help I can get! I am open to anything(:

Anyway onto todays post! I have been trying out the Revlon Lip butters and I thought I would review them!

Revlon Lip butters ( $6.49- 7.99)

My opinion: I think these are amazing. They have a great color selection. They go on sheer but are build-able.

Consistency? The lip butters are very moisturizing and give a glossy effect. They aren’t sticky at all and feel very smooth on your lips.

How long do they last? The lasting quality on these aren’t anything amazing. The color fades pretty fast, however the moisture stays.

I’m so sorry this was so short. The pictures wouldn’t cooperate. I hope you enjoyed!

QOTP (Questions of the Post) :

1. Have you tried any lip butters?
2. Is there anything you want me to review?
3. Any way I could improve?

Back to School Beauty

Hey everyone! Gosh, it feels like a long time since my last post but I’ve been super busy with back to school stuff and everything that comes with school (homework). But, I am trying to get more organzied this year and have set a notification on my phone so I remember to post every 1-2 weeks.

This post is all about beauty! Going back to school is rough and I don’t always feel up to spending hours on my hair and makeup. Thankfully, I have a uniform at my school so I don’t have to worry about fashion! Here are some of my tips and tricks for the most beautiful you at school without taking hours to get ready!

  • Tip 1: Don’t make everyday a fashion show!

I know that every once in awhile, wearing a cute dress or skirt to school is fun but don’t stress about dressing like that everyday. You can make sweatpants as cute as a dress. I showed this in the Polyvore below:

See? Just as cute, so much comfier!

  • Tip 2: Wearing your hair up is okay!

Okay, so I love curling an straightening my hair as much as the next girl but some days I like to wear my hair up but I hate wearing a simple ponytail. So I like French twists, French braid headbands, and messy buns. Below are some pictures for each. Plus, you can YouTube these for step-by-steps!

My Photos - FRESHMAN 2011

  • Tip 3: Don’t do a full face of makeup everyday!
Besides the fact that it’s not good for skin, but also I hate having to bother will a bunch of makeup every single day! So I use certain products to make it look like a lot of makeup when in reality, I’m not.

Cream Eyeshadow is amazing! I can pick one or two colors and swipe it on in under a minute for a polished look that I personally like better than normal eyeshadows. You can find them everywherw! I love Bobbi Brown cream eyeshawdows but I use Revlon too!

Okay, so here’s where I try not to preach to you all unsuccessfully. I love this product by MakeUp Forever! I’m not sure exactly what it’s supposed to be used for but from what I’ve learned, you put it on your face before you put anything other product on and it evens your skin tone. And it does! I use this so much. A little bit of this powder and some concealer and I don’t need any foundation. I hope that wasn’t too much of lecture but it really works!

Comments? Thoughts? Let me know so I can keep making these posts better and better!

Beauty Fact or Fake

Aplicativo: Descubra qual maquiagem combina com você

Hey everyone, today I decided to do a post about beauty myths. Everyone has heard things like foundation giving you wrinkles and certain products causing you to break out so I wanted to get the facts straight once and for all.

1: Toothpaste is a safe way to get rid of pimples.

FAKE: Toothpaste will help in drying out a zit, but it can actually burn your skin. The fluoride in toothpaste causes the burn.

Solution: mixing corn starch and water and dabbing it on overnight ( New York City dermatologist Dr. Francesca J. Fusco)

2: French fries and chocolate make you break out.

FAKE: This would only happen if you smeared the french fries and chocolate all over your face and clog your pores. There is no scientific evidence showing that links chocolate or oily foods to acne issues.

Solution: You blame the food, but really it’s PMS and periods. So, you can eat it all without pimples.

3: 8 hours of sleep can help me lose weight

FACT: We don’t eat while we sleep and without enough sleep we won’t be able to be energized throughout the day

4: Drinking lots of water will help keep your skin healthy

FACT: It will keep you hydrated and healthy!

5: Certain Cleansers can make your pores smaller

FAKE: Pore size is genetic but the products out there will help to minimize them for a time. Then they will go back to normal size.

Solution: There isn’t one, but you can use the products if you want your pores smaller for a time.

6: Cutting your hair will make it grow faster

FAKE: Your hair grows at its own pace and trimming your hair won’t change that.

Solution: Don’t give up those routine haircuts though! They keep your hair healthy and spilt-end free!

7: Beauty products have an expiration date

FACT: Just like food, make-up has an expiration date.

Solution: You will have to buy new but here are some common dates: Mascara and Liquid Eyeliner: 3 months, Liquid Face Make up and Cream Eye Shadow: 6 months, Powder Face Make up, Powder Eye Shadows, Pencil Eyeliners, Lipstick, Lipgloss: 2 years

Comments? Thoughts? I hope you all learned something from this! I know I did!

Book Review: The Luxe by Anna Godbersen

First off, I am sooo0o sorry I haven’t blogged in a while but I’m back. I’ve been on vacation and been doing so many things that I am exhausted.

Wenn Mädchen schweigen, gehen ihnen 1oooGedanken durch den Kopf. *-*

With all my plane flights, I have read a lot of books over the past couple weeks. So, I am going to do a series of books reviews. I hope these inspire you ladies to read this summer!

Today’s Book: The Luxe By Anna Godbersen

This book follows teenagers who live in  Manhattan in 1899. It takes you through their power struggle, their love, and these girls finding themselves in a material world.

First Impression: I was really confused. They start off with one of the main character’s dead in the Prologue but she comes back to life in the next chapter! I quickly figured out that the book is about the events leading up to the Prologue. But, READ THE PROLOGUE. You won’t get the ending otherwise.

Final Impression: I loved this book! I thought the plot was unique and not like so many other books out there. It takes a time period that is foreign to us and adds elements that we can relate too. Frenemies, gossip, family values.

4 out of 5

Recommend this book: Yes!

NOTE: this book is the first in the series. The ending of the book does not require you to continue reading but the rest of the series is very good too.

Comments? Thoughts? Let me know so I can make these posts better and better!

Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette Review + Update (:

Hello everyone!!

Well first off let me thank you guys for giving us over 4,000 views!! That is so amazing and we appreciate it soo much!! So today I am going to review my Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette that I bought a week or two ago.

The Palette was $50 and it was a really big purchase for me. I don’t like to go splurge on expensive items all that often. I had been thinking about how long I had wanted the palette and decided to get it. We have 10% tax where I  live so it came out to be around 54 dollars.

The Palette comes with 12 eyeshadows, a lip junkie lip gloss in Naked, and a double sided brush.

Going from left to right the colors are:

Foxy, Half Baked, Bootycall, Chopper, Tease, Snake Bite, Suspect, Pistol, Verve, YDK,Busted, and Blackout.

All of the colors are shimmery except Foxy, Tease, and Blackout

My favorites:

My go-to colors are either half baked or verve.

This palette is so pigmented and I recommend it to anyone who is willing to splurge on it.

As for the brush and the lip gloss….

I love this lip gloss it has such a pretty color pay off (:

The One side is a fluffy crease brush and picks up the color very nicely.

The other side is  a small flat shader brush. I feel like this side doesn’t pick up the color as well, and is very stiff.

Okay girls, so the second part of this post is an update. Summer is coming very quickly for me so I will be able to post more than once a week. (I’m excited because this week I posted twice) I am also going to be graduating 8th grade so I don’t know if I will be able to get posts up next week or the monday tuesday or wednesday following. Hopefully I will be able to, but I have family coming in that I don’t see very often so I want to spend as much time with them as possible.

Also I am moving so once our house sells it will be hectic getting everything moved and settled into the new house. So if Im am missing for a couple weeks thats why. (No worries though, we just have lookers, no offers. So my blogging schedule that I follow should be normal)

I hope you liked both parts!!

Here are My questions for You!

– What is the most expensive thing you have ever bought and was it worth it?

– How many times a week would you like me to post?

-Is there any way you would like to see me improve on?

– Is there a certain post or series of posts you would like to see?

These Are a Few of My Favorite Things :)

I’m just going to share with you some of my favorite general things I’ve bought lately.

#1: Bath & Body Works Scentportable

This is my absolute favorite purchase I’ve made lately. It’s called a scentportable and it’s from Bath and Body Works. It has a clip on the back and you can clip it where ever you want. I put mine in my car and it is AMAZING! The scent I use is passion flower and it keeps my car smelling so fresh! There are also tons of different shapes and colors to pick from, it’s not just the peace sign.

#2: Fuze

Recently, I’ve discovered these drinks. They’ve got a lot of vitamens in them for you, but honestly, I just love them because they taste so good! It’s one of those things where you either love them or hate them. I love them. My favorite flavor is Peach Mango.

#3: One Direction Album

I know livelaughfashion has told you all about these guys, but I have to second her opinion. They are absolutely great. I bought their CD from Walmart and I can’t stop listening to it. They’ve got incredibly catchy songs and outstanding voices. And they might just  be the five cutest guys on the face of this Earth.

#4: Plaid Shirts

Plaid shirts kinda went in and out of style a while ago, but I still love them! I love the different colors and styles. I love the way they’re comfortable. I love the way the look…

#5: Lava Lamp

Since my bedroom is orange and purple, ’70s themed, I thought this was extremely perfect. I got it at Target and it actually works really well! I think lava lamps are really cool to watch and it’s so pretty.

Thanks for reading!
I love comments(:

E.L.F. review

Hey Everyone,

So far i have been doing all fashion posts so today i wanted to do a beauty post. Today i have a post for you on E.L.F. makeup products. I’m all about affordable makeup and beauty so it is only natural that i would include the cheapest makeup brand, ever i think. Many people think that because ELF is so cheap ( ranges from $1-$6) that their products have bad quality but actually, most of them have amazing quality. So, take a look and maybe by the end you will find a product you love!

Product #1 – All over color stick

Cost: $1

The elf color stick is claimed to be for your eyes, cheeks, and lips. I own this in 2 colors ( the ones above) and tried each of them for those 3 areas. Here are my results! I didn’t like the pink one as much as i liked the bronze. I hated the pink one on the eyes. It was sticky and too dark of a color for me. I also didn’t like the feel of it on my eyes. I also didn’t like it on my cheeks because it was hard to blend. Although it was decent on the lips, and i do use it for that. The bronze one seemed to be okay in all areas. I liked the eye color but again it was sticky, and on the cheeks it was hard to blend. It was okay on lips but i didn’t like the color. I would buy a different bronzer. I dont recommend this product.

Product # 2- ELF zit zapper

Cost: $ 1

I was very surprised with how well this product worked! Seeing as it was so cheap i didnt think it would work well. It is suppose to help reduce zits and help prevent them. I first put this on, on my way out the door. It went on pretty good and i love the fact that it has a roller ball and is great for travel. But it did smell bad. When i got home about 4 hours later the zit had noticeably gotten smaller. It was not as great as most spot treatments but was great for only a dollar.

Product # 3- ELF healthy glow bronzer

Cost: $1

This product was great and not so great. It was really soft and went on smoothly. It was also very pigmented but some people may not like how shimmery it is. The only reason i didnt like it was because it only came in 2 shades and i got the lightest but it was still too dark. I would not recommend this for anyone with fair skin. But if you have dark skin its a great bronzer!

Product # 4- ELF Golden Bronzer

Cost: $3

This is my all time favorite product by ELF.  Its a nice shimmery bronzer. Its a quad and when you swirl them together it give you a nice glow. Although again, Some may not like it because it is rather shimmery. It’s a great amount of product for 3 dollars and i really like the compact with the mirror that it comes in. I would recommend this to anyone with light skin ( only comes in one shade) only because i tried it out on my really tan sister and it looked white.

Product # 5- ELF tone correcting powder

Cost: $3

I adore this product! What it does is by mixing the 4 colors together it is supposed to give your skin a smooth, clear, flawless look, and it does! I like to think of it as a sort of primer. You can apply it to your skin before foundation like i do, or after. But either way it will even your skin tone. Help with redness and give it a clear look. I recommend this product to anyone. It lasts a great deal of time, and again comes in a cute compact.

Product # 6- ELF translucent matifying powder

Cost: $3

This is a rather good product but not my favorite. It is supposed to get rid of oil and make skin look nice and matte, lol. I applied this mid-day at school and it did make my skin matte and soak up oil. I also use it to make my foundation more matte after i apply it. Its very easy to bring to school and it even has a mirror and a sponge to apply the powder. My only con is i dont care so much for the color, because if you put on too much it can lok a little cake-y.

Product # 7-  Shimmery facial whip

Cost : $1

This is a great product that i use as a highlighter on my cheeks and in the inner corner of my eyes to make them look brighter.  It works nicely and is smooth and bendable. There is also a good amount of product. I use it just about everyday. The one thing that got rather annoying was it was a bit watery.

Product # 8- Hypershine lip gloss

Cost: $1

This product is a rather great lipgloss for only a dollar. They have nice colors that last a while and are very shiny. The shine also lasts really long. I feel like it makes my lips look fuller as well. The only con is that it feels a tad sticky.

Product # 9- Glitter Gloss

Cost: $ 3

This product is great :) I like it because i wanted to get that red lip look without actual red lipstick and i found this as a great alternative. It has a nice dark color and i like the sparkles. It even lasts a long time. The only problem is that it happens to be a bit sticky and does not have that good of a flavor :/

Product # 10- ELF total face brush

Cost: $ 1

If you are looking for a cheap brush i really recommend this one. Its fluffy, soft and is great for applying any powder all over your face. I use it for just about all face products but foundation and concealer. Most cheap brushes are very bad quality but i was surprised how well it worked. I would recommend it to anyone.

To go buy these products, check out your local target or their website-
